Chey, Lately

brockhampton and the mortifying ordeal of remembering

hi friends,

i was listening to music when my dead ex boyfriend came on shuffle.

brockhampton is my dead ex boyfriend in this case.

not in the sense that i hate them. quite the opposite, actually. in the sense that if someone mentions them in any capacity, i immediately become a widow staring longingly out of a rain covered window.

oh.

brockhampton.

i haven't heard that name in years.

except i have. obviously. because i still listen to them. but you get it.

a brockhampton song will shuffle while i'm driving and within four seconds i'm like oh my god. remember us???

and then sometimes someone else brings them up, which is somehow worse. someone will be like, "oh yeah, i used to listen to brockhampton."

used to???

you USED TO???

that's my FAMILY you're talking about.

please show some respect.

yes, brockhampton as a collective entity is dead and i am its grieving widow, and very few months i go stand at the metaphorical grave to remember what we had.

it's not really just about missing the band, sometimes you miss the person you were when you loved something that much. i can press play whenever i want, but i can't go back.

absolutely disgusting.

anyway, i love brockhampton and i will probably love brockhampton forever.

and if you ever mention them around me, please understand that for the next five to seven business days i will be emotionally unavailable.

i just saw my dead ex boyfriend.

         see you lately,

        chey ♡
